I intended to share my work from my painting class last week, but it’s… not ready. My grandmother passed away unexpectedly, and I’ve been feeling sad and a little disconnected. My work has been consuming and my little promise to myself that I’d create something every day has fallen by the wayside. The sun is shining today though and I’m feeling hopeful that better days are ahead.
As we’ve been painting a lot of portraits in class, I’ve been researching all kinds of artists that do this kind of work. I’ve been obsessing about these amazing portraits from world-famous artist, Malcom T. Liepke. I just love all these pretty ladies. His work is in oil, but I’d like to try some of these techniques with acrylic and see what transpires. Hopefully I’ll have lots to share with you next week. (Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers!)
